I got a request from a friend for more posts

I got a request from a friend for more posts . . . more, more, MORE! Woe betide, I have been frustrated since late last year in getting work onto this thing, problems from basic computing (lousy 3-year-old hard drives), to access to the internets, to scanning. Oy oy oy.

Nevertheless, I’ve got a backlog to scan and post now, so let’s begin, shall we? Let’s further hope that I don’t screw things up when I upgrade to WordPress 2.01.

I’d love to backdate these from the first of the year December of last year. I’m finishing out the old O’Shea/Greymatter storyline and it would really look good to have finished it before the end of the 12-year mark, but I’m not going to do that. It smacks of revisionism. Well, it is revisionism. There’s enough of that on-line, and I shouldn’t contribute.

I was watching the PBS arts show “EGG” recently and noticed that they blurred women’s nipples and butt cracks in live action and photographs, but not in paintings. It’s inconsistent, however, and occasionally they’ll leave old photos alone, or allow nipples to show through wet cloth. What is wrong with us? How is anyone harmed by simply seeing naked humans? I was baffled by this attitude at seven years old, and I’m still baffled. No child in the history of the world was ever harmed by just seeing a naked person. Let’s grow up.

I realized after I posted the last time that the image I drew, like the one before it, has no context for anyone who’s started reading about O’Shea and Greymatter on-line. I dread doing nothing but scanning comics for the next few days just to get the missing bits up, so I may just go ahead and post the thing and worry about continuity and spoilers later. For now, a sketch.

The scanner is operational again, and there’s a new segment of O’Shea in the pipeline. Gimme a couple of days and we’ll be on the way to the end of a 12-year project.
