We had to, since the reception for the wedding was at Club 33, the infamous private dining club tucked into New Orleans Square. The place is very 19th Century Gentlemen’s Club, lots of dark wood, antiques, and overdressed staff, who were a bit curt, a stark contrast to the cheery demeanor of the rest [...] Well, he was my best friend in high school, which counted for a lot. We went down to Dana Point for the ceremony, which was held at a compass circle overlooking the marina. It was kind of a Scottish wedding. The groom, Todd, and his family cherish their Scottish heritage, and there [...] So, last weekend I went to two parties in a row, which turned out to be a bit much. Not because of the revelry, but it was a busy week, and I had the two auditions Saturday, and there was no real recovery time between them. Friday was a winter white party, where most of [...] Channeling Feist by way of Janis Ian, Kay Pettigrew delivers a grin-inducing version of the Will Smith series theme. Some of the comments on CollegeHumor are less than kind, but those people are misery-loving turds with no significant others. Go check her MySpace page for even better stuff. I guess it’s clear I’m a [...] I’m catching up here, so bear with me for posting last Thursday’s thing. It was really more of a potluck than a meeting. Also, Mark’s house is small, so we were jammed in there pretty tightly. Sardine-like. Does anybody eat tins of sardines anymore? Like a bag of baby carrots, then. We stuffed ourselves and [...] Yesterday, before the Oscars, we had lunch with our friend Ann. Her Jack Russells, Shorty and Gizmo, were waiting. She graciously invited in her tenants, Jannatha and her lovely fiance, Kyle, to join us. My photo of Kyle went missing, but their two dogs came with them and took to Morgan immediately. That’s dog [...] Um, yeah. Also, there’s this exciting new series called 24 that is so awesome! I hate to be cynical, but this just makes it clear that a show I used to love has not only devolved into merely a long string of gags (although, admittedly, some episodes from this season had a bit of the [...] My ex-cow-orker, Mel, had her [REDACTED]eth birthday this week, and a few of her most boisterous friends came to her apartment to celebrate and freak out her cat. Morgan had a good time chatting with Danny and Elizabeth In fact, everybody had a pretty good time, all around. Especially Melanie, who worked [...] After several hours of tearing hair and biting nails, I managed to get this thing upgraded to the newest WordPress version. With luck, the new self-upgrading feature will keep my keratin intact. Yay me. Oh. My. Gluck!
