detail of a larger work I thought I was dead, but then the world came back into focus, first sound, then feeling, then thought, then vision. I felt sick and sat in my car for half an hour before driving home again. When I was a little kid, I saw an awful lot of backs. [...] Torsos sell us perfume, gym memberships, clothes, cigarettes, and lifestyles. When they’re ripped, with clear skin, they draw our focus. They are anonymous and safe. They fill us with desire, but only in the abstract. They are not real. That is, without a face there isn’t a human identity to relate to. No identity, [...] This one’s the sketch for a high school’s logo. Man, if that doesn’t constitute an obscure Python reference, I don’t know what. This one is reminiscent of the bot from Nick Park’s A Grand Day Out. Different enough, though, I suppose. This one’s fun [...] This is a concept for a side project. Don’t yell at me! Ideas come unbidden, and I can’t very well let them just languish or disappear. No one knows better than I that I have precious little time to spend on outside ventures besides O’Shea.
